From May 1st to May 31st the African Well Fund invites U2 fans and others who are inspired by Bono’s tireless activism on behalf of Africa to donate to the 22nd Annual Build a Well for Bono’s Birthday fundraiser in honor of Bono’s 64th birthday.
The 21 previous campaigns have raised over $340,000 in Bono’s honor to fund the construction of clean water and sanitation projects in Sub-Saharan Africa which are benefiting more than 100,000 people in Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Liberia, Mali, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zimbabwe.
For BBW24, an anonymous donor from the U2 fan community has stepped forward to kick things off with a generous offer – they will match dollar for dollar the first 100 donations of $64 or more! This incredible offer will put us well on the way to our goal of $20,000! Money raised will go towards constructing ten wells in ten villages in Homa Bay County, Kenya.
As always, all donors are invited to add their name and a message to a birthday card that will be sent to Bono upon completion of the fundraiser.
