Project Summary

This project, funded by the fourth Build a Well for Bono’s Birthday fundraiser, aimed to promote healthy living conditions for residents of two rural wards through the rehabilitation of 10 boreholes, 10 shallow wells and one deep well; to reduce water point breakdowns by at least 50 percent through the formation and capacity building of water point committees and provision of maintenance kits; and to improve sanitation facilities and school attendance through the provision of block grants to two schools for construction of ventilated improved pit latrines.
