African Well Fund Volunteers Rob and Lynelle Trigalet
African Well Fund board members and volunteers were among the attendees at the 2005 Africare Bishop John T. Walker Memorial Dinner in Washington D.C. The event, which took place on Thursday, October 13th, was attended by over 2000 people and is the largest annual event for Africa in the United States. Proceeds from the event support Africare’s many programs in Africa.

African Well Fund was pleased to share its table with two members of Blood:Water Mission a fellow organization working to supply clean water to the people of Africa. AWF was honored to be acknowledged in the dinner program as General Committee Members.

This year’s Bishop Walker Humanitarian Award recipient was former Secretary of State, Colin Powell. Gen. Powell’s speech as well as other speeches from the event can be viewed here.
Earlier in the day, board members Angela Martens and Diane Yoder met with Africare staff at Africare House. They received updates on past and current projects and discussed future projects in our continuing partnership.
