The African Well Fund concluded its eighth annual Build a Well for Bono’s Birthday fundraiser on Saturday, aiming to raise $50,000 to fund a clean water and sanitation project in Zimbabwe in honor of Bono’s 50th birthday.
Between March 22 and May 15, AWF accepted donations through its website and a Facebook Cause page, sold limited-edition prints by artist Azalea Millet, auctioned U2 live photographs, auctioned U2 360 concert tickets and auctioned a limited-edition photograph of Bono by Colm Henry. Fans were also invited to add their birthday wishes to a card that will be sent to Bono via Principle Management.
AWF will announce the final tally for Build a Well for Bono’s Birthday in June. Thank you to everyone who made a donation and supported this effort.
