The African Well Fund is thrilled to announce the grand total for the 4th Annual Build a Well for Bono’s Birthday fundraiser. U2 fans from around the world have contributed a grand total of $32,051.43!!!!
The response to this year’s appeal was fantastic! Sales of the special Bono Birthday Well t-shirt raised over $600 towards the total and the U2 concert photo auction accounted for over a third of the total, raising over $11,000.
Donations were received from U2 fans all over the world, including Canada, Mexico, Australia, Germany, England, Denmark, Hungary, Brazil, France, Greece, Italy, Japan, Czech Republic, Ireland, Sweden and Bosnia & Herzegovina. The money raised will be used to implement an Integrated Community Water and Sanitation project in Zimbabwe that will provide clean water and improved sanitation for 2000 people. The African Well Fund would like to thank all who contributed for your generous support. Fans have now contributed more than $80,000 for clean water projects during the Bono Birthday appeals and the African Well Fund has raised more than $175,000 since its inception!
