The African Well Fund is thrilled to announce that its first annual virtual charity auction was a fantastic success, raising over $5500 for clean water projects in Africa. The money raised will be used to fund projects in Angola where there is a great need. Currently, less than half of the population in Angola has access to clean water and sanitation. Angola also suffers from the world’s fourth worst child mortality rate.
The auction was an online event which utilized the services provided by MissionFish and eBay’s Giving Works. The event initially ran from Nov. 7 through Nov. 13th and then was extended for an additional week. Auction items were donated by AWF supporters including many in the U2 fan community. AWF would like to thank all those who donated as well as all those who bid on the items offered.
